1) The total number of education hours required for certification will remain the same for the respective credentials; however, the break down in categories e.g., co-occurring, case management, and cultural awareness will be eliminated with the exception of the 6 hours of MCBAP approved professional ethics requirement for all credentials. This will apply to the CAAC, CAC-M, CAC-R, CPS-M, CPS-R, CPC-M, and CPC-R credentials.

For example, current CAC-I’s certified since 1996/1997 with the appropriate masters degree and are applying for the CAAC will need to complete a simplified application, submit a copy of their diploma and college transcripts, complete the supervised practical training form and submit the $150 initial certification fee.

All current CAC-I’s will be notified via letter from the MCBAP office as to what is required in order to complete the transition to the appropriate credential.
