Dear Certified Professional:
MISSION STATEMENT:

  As you know the CAC-I certification has been phased out effective October 1, 2006.  Professionals who currently hold the CAC-I credential and obtained the credential through the “grandparenting” process during he period of October 1, 1996 and January 1, 1998 may apply for the CAAC or CAC-M through the process listed below:

To provide public protection and promote quality services through certification of professionals engaging in the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug problems and the assessment and treatment of addictions.

·         Individuals with a Master degree in a human behavior field with a clinical application (i.e., social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family counseling) may apply for the CAAC credential.  The CAAC credential will transfer to an IC&RC reciprocal credential effective October 1, 2008 with no additional testing.

-         Completed application (enclosed)
-         Copy of college transcripts and diploma

·         Individuals who do not hold a Master degree may apply for the CAC-M credential.

-         Documentation of 50 hours of AODA education training

 

Members:

When submitting the application to apply for one of the above credentials, the $150 initial certification fee is not required if applying during the current certification period of the CAC-I credential
