As of October 1, 2009 MCBAP will be offering the following "New" reciprocal certifications:

  • IC&RC Certified Co-Occurring Disorder Professional (Bachelors level)
  • IC&RC Certified Co-Occurring Disorder Professional- Diplomat (Masters level)

MCBAP has reduced the renewal fee for any certified professional possessing more than one of MCBAP’s certifications. The renewal fee will be $25.00 for the additional certifications beginning August 15, 2009.

A free on-line subscription to the "Counselor Magazine" is available to any individual certified with an IC&RC reciprocal certification. This includes, CAAC, CAC-R, CCJP, CCS-R, CPS-R, and CPC-R. Individual with a CAC-M, CCS-M, CPS-M or CPC-M are not eligible. Please visit MCBAP.com for instructions.

We have expanded our list of educational sources for training’s that may be used to meet the educational requirements for certification and renewal to include a number of professional organizations, state and federal agencies. Please see the Application Manual for each credential for appropriate information. The lists may be expanded as other organizations are brought to our attention and their educational program standards and criteria are reviewed

Effective of January 1, 2010, the renewal fee will increase from $125.00 for a 2-year renewal to $135.00 for a 2-year renewal. The annual renewal will increase from $75.00 to $85.00. This increase is to offset projected income reductions from the above changes. MCBAP does not receive funding from the State of Michigan or any other source.

Computer Based Testing will be available for the IC&RC examinations beginning in December 2009. We currently have five locations in Michigan. The locations are:

Michigan State University-East Lansing
Henry Ford Community College- Dearborn
Southwestern Michigan College- Dowagiac
Lake Superior State College- Sault Ste. Marie
Macomb County Community College- Warren

Computer Based Testing usually allows candidate to test anytime within 14 days following the administration of the regular IC&RC exam. Testing hours vary at each location. Many test sites are open evenings and weekends. Preliminary test results are available upon completion of the exam. Once registered with MCBAP, you will be contacted via email directly from the testing company to set up a test site, day and time. Registration forms are available at MCBAP.com.

Computer Base Testing Fee will be $160.00.

Paper and Pencil versions of the IC&RC exams will increase to $140.00 effective for the December 2009 administration. The current test sites are Troy, Okemos, Marquette and Gaylord.

The fee has been reduced for the Approved Provider status from $750 to $375 applications for approved providers will be posted at MCBAP.com
